Synchronize iPhone movie with Zoom H5 stereo audio recorded simultaneously

I just downloaded DaVinchi Resolve 19 with hopes of learning how to easily synchronize iPhone movies of my band with stereo audio recorded with my Zoom H5 recorder. It looks like Davinchi Resolve is much more complicated and involved that I can possibly imagine. But I found a video that shows how to import the two files, select them, and right click to bring up a menu that enables one click synchronization ("Auto Sync Audio"). Only problem is, the menu that pops up DOES NOT have "Auto Sync Audio" as an option! The long menu that does pop up starts with "Create new timeline using selected clips". I've looked everywhere I can think of but apparently, I'm looking in all the wrong places. Very frustrating. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I also looked at the FAQ with no luck. Tom

Syncing audio files is usually a fairly easy process, unless one of the audio files has a lot of echo, in which case in my experience DVR is not able to sync them and you have to do it manually. Which version of DVR are you using?

Are you in the Cut Page? Go to the Edit Page. Drop your video with its native audio into the timeline, then drop your audio file from your Zoom H5 in the audio track below. Select both audio tracks by shift + clicking both tracks. Right click on either of the audio tracks. About halfway down the menu that pops up, under Change Clip Speed, there should be the option Auto Align Clips. If you select that a little window pops up with options to auto align based on waveform or timecode. This is in DVR 19 in the Edit Page.

Did that help? And yes, DVR is complicated you got that right, but it can be learned.

Am I in the correct place in the attached screen shot to find the "Change Clip speed" menu item? I don't see it....

You're on the Fairlight Page, look at the bottom there are 7 different icons. Click this one:

Watch this video to familiarize yourself with the Edit Page:

It's the meat and potatoes of DaVinci Resolve. Please watch this video as it is a concise tutorial of how to do exactly what you are trying to do.

It sounds like you should go through a basic DaVinci Resolve tutorial to familiarize yourself with the program. Watch the video below, I know it's really long but there are chapter markings and you can watch it piece by piece at your leisure.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Oldschool47: I am extremely excited. Your directions have taken me almost all the way to where I want to be! As you suggested, I want to watch the tutorial videos... but I'm also anxious to discover the next few steps that will take me to having the video track from my iPhone synced with the new synced audio track from my Zoom H5. Right now, all I see (I think) are the two audio tracks.. or maybe two audio tracks and a third track that is the synced track... not too sure. But this is question...
1. How do I compare the synced track with the audio track from my iPhone?
2. What is the next step to be able to watch the video with only the new synced Zoom H5 audio track?

If I'm taking too much of your time, just tell me to go watch the tutorial... I'll understand. :) Tom

The tutorial is very short and shows you exactly what to do. I also explained it in my previous post:

From your screenshot it looks like the audio track from your iphone is in Audio 1 and your zoom h5 track is in Audio 2. Each audio file is separated into a left and a right channel. You can compare the tracks by soloing each track, which you do by clicking the "S" button between the "R" and "M" buttons.

To watch the video only with your zoom h5 track, you can simply mute the audio track from your iphone by clicking the "M" button on your Audio 1 track. You could also just delete the track.
