Video Transitions

Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to DaVinci Resolve (I'm using the free version). My question is about video transitions. I started a timeline with several clips. I would like to add some dissolves between the clips but the timeline won't accept it. Am I doing something wrong? How do I solve this?

AI says:
1. Check for Handles:
Ensure that each clip has enough overlap (handles). If your clips are butted up directly against each other without any extra footage, the transition won't work
2. Trim Clips:
If there are no handles, you can trim the end of the first clip and the start of the second clip to create the necessary overlap
3. Add Transition:
Once you have the handles, you can add the dissolve transition. Right-click on the meeting point of the two clips and select the desired transition, such as "24 Frame Cross Dissolve"
4. Use Speed Editor:
If you have a Speed Editor, pressing the TRANS key will apply a dissolve at the edit point and ripple the clips to accommodate it
