Hello,
I'm new to video editing, and of the options I've researched, Da Vinci Resolve looks to me like the best solution for my needs, so I hope I can make it work.
I've immediately hit two problems.
1) I import four clips - three iPhone vids with audio, and one audio only. They all play fine on various players such as MediaPlayer and VLC, but one of the videos shows in Resolve as Media Offline. I've tried re-linking it. No dice. It's just the same as the other two, as far as I can tell, both of which load and play perfectly in DVR. But if I run this troublesome one within the app, I get the sound but no video. As I say, it plays fine outside the app. I'd imagine it was a codec problem, but the other two are good. Any ideas what there might be about it that DVR doesn't like?
2) So I want to create a multicam clip of all three vids, plus the audio. I get rid of the troublesome one. Then, as the tutorial tells me, select the clips on the Master Bin and right click - and according to several people on YouTube, I ought to be offered the option to Create Multiclip from those clips. But I'm not. There's no such option, not even greyed out. I try it with just the vids, in case the audio's confusing the issue. Still nothing. The only options I'm offered are Create New Timeline... and Create New Timeline Using Selected Clips and Bins....
What have I not done?
I'm running 20.2, downloaded today, on Win10.
Thank you for your time. I hope I can become a useful contributor here. But probably not *this* week.
