Masking using window tool HELP

Liz

New Member
I have used the window tool in the colour page to create 5 different masks each in separate nodes. I then fed each of these nodes into a key mixer node through the alpha channels only (although I have also tried with both alpha and RGB channels connected) and then fed the RGB channels into a parallel node (at that point just trial and error to make it work). I then fed the output of the parallel mixer into an RGB output and fed the output of the key mixer into an alpha output. With the key mixer node selected, I went onto the ‘key’ tab at the bottom and inverted the output so that the unmasked parts of the video were now selected. This all seemed to have gone well as the areas I wanted to be selected were shown as selected on the key tab. However, when I added a node after the key mixer node and tried to adjust the selection with saturation and contrast, there was no effect on any of the image. I have fiddled around quite a bit and tried with feeding all channels into the key mixer node, tried connecting the mask nodes to each other before feeding into the key mixer and tried fiddling about with anything I could think of but to no avail. I’ve been using chatGPT to generate tutorials that I can follow since I’m new to the software and have been troubleshooting the issue using this but it hasn’t managed to come up with anything that could help me so I’m at a bit of a loss and assuming that I’ve massively over complicated it all. This is about where I’m up to now.

Any effort to spare me from psychosis is very much appreciated
