I do some shooting at 59.94 fps and would like to edit clips at 29.97 fps. That way my clips should be at half speed. My preferences are set for 29.97 fps. However, when I import a 59.94 fps clip into the media pool I'm prompted to change the project frame rate. If I click 'do not change' the clip stays the same length in the time line as if it's at 29.97 fps. To my way of thinking, double the frames should double the length in the time line. Does Resolve Studio automatically cut out half of the frames? When I play the timeline it plays jerky as if half the frames are missing as if I did a speed-change without optical flow..
I suppose I could speed-change the clip and use optical flow, but that seems to be a waste.
What am I doing wrong? What do people do with super fast frame rates? Like in the thousands of frames per second?
