Zed here. I've been doing mostly non-commercial video editing for over 30 years.
My first setup was a FAST AV Master (MJPEG) capture card by in the 1990s. Back then, I eventually added a 4GB Seagate Barracuda which gave me enough HD space to do longer videos.
After that I switched to Canopus capture cards, then Matrox, then Newtek Video toaster.
I've recorded on VHS, Sony 8mm, HI8, Compact VHS, C-SVHS, before going all digital with DV, compact flash, SD, and now just SSD.
I've previously beta tested for Adobe, Matrox, and Newtek, but just a hobbyist/enthusiast then, and still now.
I've used Davinci for a while, but I'm recently retired so I'm able to do a lot more video editing now, and I bought the Studio version this week.
